• For the environmentally-conscious, less paper is used.
  
• No need to fret about finding the right-sized envelope, searching for the correct address, and making a special trip to the post office for proper postage and delivery options.
  
• Your chances of an audit actually decrease, because the information sent electronically is never re-entered into another computer system.  All the numbers are already there, so there is less chance of human error transposing numbers, etc.
  
• Refunds are processed more quickly, and if you have a balance due you can still wait to pay until your due date arrives.
