Here are some tips for users of Quicken, QuickBooks and QuickBooks Pro:
In the amount field, you can automatically add/subtract numbers by hitting the +/- key. The adding tape that appears is a fun graphic. In the date field, you can automatically go to the next date by hitting the +/- key. Keep hitting that key to get to the date you want. Using the "Find" command can be the quickest way to locate an item. For instance, let's say you want to find check number 1469. Go to the menu. Select "Edit" then "Find". This will open the "Find window". Now in your filter, choose "Number" and type in 1469. Choose the command button "Find". Notice on the bottom of the window is where your search will display the results. You can use this if you know any one of the variable filters shown. To backup, first make sure your data company is open and you have a disk in the floppy drive A. From the menu select "File" then "Backup". This will bring up the backup window. Select a name for your backup. Notice QB automatically adds the extension ".qbb", which means QB backup. Make sure you have the "a-drive" selected. Now select "OK". That's all there is to it. Backup daily!
